Emotional Wellbeing Workshops – Women – Dewsbury
Moor Children Centre

Domestic Abuse Workshop

In this session we focused on explaining what constitutes domestic abuse, the
cycle of an abuser, the profile of an abuser the impact it has on women and
children, how to plan a safe move, as well as the coping strategies to deal with the
situation on a daily basis. This work-shop was attended by eight women who
interacted and thoroughly enjoyed the session. As the group was small, women
were comfortable sharing their experiences and the feedback received was very
positive. See feedback below.
Stress Management
In this session we focused on recognising symptoms of stress, identifying stress
triggers, understanding resilience and strategies in managing and building
emotional resilience. 14 women expressed interest in attending the workshop – of
which we had six attend. The smaller number of attendees meant that we could
gain valuable insight into the personal issues individuals faced and were able to
offer strategies that best matched their situation. Again the feedback received was
excellent, all thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the knowledge gained.
#Smartmum – 21st Century Upbringing
This workshop attracted lot of interest with 16 people sign up. We focused our
delivery on the challenges faced by children in the 21st Century, the impact of
these challenges on children, common mistakes in parenting and how parents can
best support their children. We had 8 women attend this workshop. We all had a
very interactive discussion about their concerns they have for their children,
women shared their experiences and also leant new strategies that they had not
heard of before despite being parents for many years.Feedback
